Watch & Dance - 28/02

Are you the kind of person who starts tapping their foot as soon as they hear a note of music? Then this programme is for you! Featuring the latest music videos and films that have captivated us, Watch & Dance will be presented by the incredible Raman Djafari, who directed the video clip of ‘Cold Heart’ by Dua Lipa and Elton John no less!

The Man Who Planted Trees - 28/02

Why show this 1987 masterpiece today? Because trees are essential and the festival wants to celebrate the greening of its surroundings: Place Flagey and Place Sainte-Croix. Adapted from Jean Giono’s short story, this film tells with great lyricism the story of a determined man who single-handedly planted a forest.

Babeldom - 29/02

Babeldom is a megacity growing at breakneck speed. How will two lovers – one inside the city, the other outside – communicate? This elegy of urban life in the future, a portrait assembled using extracts shot in modern cities, is the sole feature film by the late, talented Paul Bush.

Barry Purves, an animator in the rough - 01/03

After a screening of some of his films, Barry will talk candidly about various aspects of his exceptional career in stop-motion animation, spanning forty-five very colourful years. His films have won more than sixty international awards. Barry also worked on Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks! and Peter Jackson’s King Kong.
