Anima is een Academy Award® kwalificerend festival
Anima is sinds 2014 erkend door de Oscars® (Academy Awards), een van de meest prestigieuze filmprijzen ter wereld die aan het begin van het jaar in Los Angeles worden uitgereikt. Dit betekent dat de Grand Prix van onze Internationale Kortfilmcompetitie automatisch op de longlist komt voor de "Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film" (op voorwaarde dat de film voldoet aan de toelatingscriteria van de Academie).
