Despite a busy and prolific career, Cyril Pedrosa has done us the honour of creating the official poster for Anima 2024. He let himself be guided by his current concerns as well as by images that have affected him, somewhere between future threats and the hope of a new world. His striking and vibrant design has inspired one of the focal points of the 2024 edition, i.e. science fiction..

Cyril Pedrosa
After studying animation at the École des Gobelins, Cyril Pedrosa began his career as an animator and inbetweener at Disney France (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules). He then went on to develop his graphic universe in comics, creating ambitious albums with intimate stories such as Trois Ombres, Portugal, Les Équinoxes and L’Âge d’or, all acclaimed at the famous Angoulême festival, among others. Besides pursuing his own work, Cyril Pedrosa is frequently involved in collaborations: with the team behind Professeur Cyclope and its pioneering digital magazine in 2013, for instance, and currently with mangaka Taiyou Matsumoto (Amer Béton), with who he is working on a book. His career in animation has continued in parallel with graphic research on Tomm Moore’s Wolfwalkers, for instance, and the graphic design of Sébastien Laudenbach’s Prends garde à toi! He is currently working on his first animated feature film, La Longue Nuit, a post-apocalyptic drama set in a ruined Paris, co-produced by Modern Magic (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and Miyu Productions.
