ÉMILIE TRONCHE DESIGNS THE POSTER FOR ANIMA 2026!

For its 45th edition, Anima is proud to present its new poster, created by Émilie Tronche. She explains that she moved on from the usual “film festival” theme to create an image that tells a story, like a single frame lifted from a movie. Her inspirations range from the iconic Tapestry album cover by Carole King to the tender embrace of Jirō and Nahoko in The Wind Rises, and even the final verse of Allegra Krieger’s song A Place for It to Land. The result is an image full of tenderness and sweet melancholy that will represent Anima 2026.
From February 20 to March 1, join us at Flagey, Marni, and Cinematek to explore the magic of animated films, get carried away by their stories, and be inspired. And this is just the beginning; stay tuned, there are many more surprises to come!
WHO IS ÉMILIE TRONCHE ?
Émilie Tronche joined the Atelier de Sèvres in 2014 before continuing her studies at the École des Métiers du Cinéma d’Animation in Angoulême, where she graduated in 2019. She then created Promenade sentimentale, a short film adapted from a poem by Paul Verlaine, as part of the seventh season of the program En sortant de l’école, broadcast on France Télévisions. In 2020, she created the character Samuel, a ten-year-old boy who shares moments from his life inspired by her own childhood memories and enriched by music and dance. Broadcast by Arte, the series quickly became a true phenomenon. In 2025, she published Le Journal de Samuel, a graphic novel co-edited by Arte Éditions and Casterman.
