Let yourself be captivated by these stories, enhanced by live performances from the Cabaret Mademoiselle artists, with guest stars Alvilda, Mirko Piccolo and our imperial mistress of ceremonies, La Veuve.
The screening on 27 February will only show the films, without the performances.

Have you ever wondered how you can tell a powerful and cinematic story through a video game? Capturing attention while serving gameplay is quite an art. Between narration, immersion, rhythm, gameplay and emotion, explore the challenges and mechanisms of video-game storytelling during this meeting.
At the invitation of AC4PAL (Animation Community for Palestine), animation figures and artists expressed their support for the Palestinian people. The result: 329 animated short films from more than 50 countries. The collective behind the project was inspired by the work of Haneen Koraz and her team in Gaza, who teach children to tell their stories using stop motion.
Full of finesse and humour, these nine very different films shed light on women’s concerns: the sacrifices and dilemmas women face regarding their appearance, their desires, motherhood, work, relationships … Girl Power is back in Flagey, for a programme that foregrounds emotion and empowerment!
What could be more fun than being able to experiment with no other constraint than the freedom to explore and create? This programme offers a unique glimpse into the work of artists who challenge our perceptions. Whether strange, poetic or disturbing, these films have one thing in common, and that is that they leave no one indifferent.
Is this thing recording? Yep, you can start! The tape recorder is the starting point for this film about the contrasting upbringings of two half-brothers, one white, the other Indigenous. Funny and surprising, the film moves between Toronto and northern Manitoba and is like a finger-licking cookie.
While fleeing from the Russians, little Sophie and her parents meet the Nazi Scharf and the young Hitler Youth member Beckmann in a hotel. In a fight with Scharf, Sophie loses her parents and her memory. The Russians occupy the hotel, find Sophie and make her a cook. An authentic stop-motion film, started 25 years ago!

Robot has only one goal in life: to raise the brilliant Celeste. When the young astronaut leaves on a space trip, Robot is left alone. But Celeste keeps fond memories of him that bring him comfort during a perilous expedition. A film by musician and DJ Kid Koala with no dialogue, inspired by his own successful graphic novel.

This programme is more than a compilation of wonderful LGBTQIA+ films – it’s a true celebration of queer pride! Let yourself be captivated by these stories, enhanced by live performances from the Cabaret Mademoiselle artists, with guest stars Alvilda, Mirko Piccolo and our imperial mistress of ceremonies, La Veuve.
The screening on 27 February will only show the films, without the performances.

Visionary film-maker Mamoru Hosoda (Mirai), nominated for an Oscar®, presents an intense animated adventure. Scarlet, a warrior princess from a medieval kingdom at war, fails to avenge her father and awakens in a mysterious afterlife. Her encounter with a young man from our time disrupts her thirst for vengeance and her destiny, forcing her to make a choice!
With his job not paying the bills and his relationship on the rocks, Arnold the mouse is in a downward spiral. So much so that he feels like he’s living in an artificial reality. Alberto Vázquez (Unicorn Wars) adapted his short film of the same name into a successful feature film. Any resemblance to an existing society is clearly intentional!

The 45th edition of the Anima Festival opens with the new feature film by Quebecois director Félix Dufour-Laperrière. One of the most remarkable directors and animators on the scene today, he has developed a style that is at once contemplative, poetic and highly political. Drawn entirely by hand, the film imposes a graphic style that visualizes emotions and establishes a world that is both harsh and poetic.
For this 45th edition, we decided to pull out all the stops by entrusting the Animated Night to JeanJean. He has accepted the mission of loosening up your facial muscles and bringing stars from the sky to your beautiful eyes!

Animation has been a fertile ground for horror for several years now, and our 2025 Grand Prix was even awarded to Sisowath Quay! On the menu for this programme?
