Call for Applications / Speed Dating Music & Animation / Futuranima March 5, 2025

As part of the upcoming edition of the Anima Festival, which will take place from February 28 to March 9, 2025, Amplo is teaming up with Wallonie Bruxelles Musique, the Conseil de la Musique, Sabam, and VI.BE to organize a professional meeting focused on music and animation film.

This speed dating event will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Théâtre Marni (Rue de Vergnies 25, 1050 Ixelles). It will bring together animation filmmakers and music composers/producers for 20-minute meetings (conducted mainly in English). Afterwards participants are invited for a networking drink to encourage further discussion in a more informal setting.

The first phase of this applications call is exclusively for filmmakers at the end of their studies or early in their careers. (Music composers/producers will be able to apply starting January 23, 2025, via the Crewbooking platform).

Applicants wishing to participate in this event must meet the following criteria:

For filmmakers:
-        currently enrolled in a film school or a recent graduate specializing in directing
-        completed or working on at least one project (as part of studies or independently)
-        available on March 5, 2025
-        FORM

For music composers/producers:
-        recognized as a professional in the music sector (= pro or semi pro)
-        either a composer or a producer
-        active in the music field for visuals or considering entering this area of work
-        available on March 5, 2025

APPLICATION DEADLINES :
- filmmakers: January 19, 2025
- music composers/producers: Applications open on January 23, 2025, via the Crewbooking platform

Selected participants will be notified by email no later than January 22, 2025.
As places are very limited, the selection committee reserves the right not to provide reasons for its decisions.

Sabam will award a grant of €2,500 per person to two composers/producers Sabam members (or those in the process of becoming members) whose animated film music composition projects are born out of this speed dating event.
