A ghostly train on an abandoned line transports a man who is visiting his dying father in a sanatorium to the edge of a mythical forest. This film is an adaptation of the book by Bruno Schulz, who was killed in 1941. This is the latest feature from the Quay brothers, Timothy and Stephen, undisputed masters of stop motion, the weird and the dreamlike.
